Betterton Surveying & Design, Inc. is a small business located in Marietta, Georgia and offers land surveying and civil site design services throughout the metro Atlanta area. Originally, the company, known then as Bi-Jo was founded by Bill Herndon in 1976, with Bobby Betterton joining the firm in 1986. The two decided to go into partnership and in 1991, Herndon & Betterton Inc. was founded.
Then in 2000, Bobby Betterton bought out the remaining interests of Bill Herndon, and Betterton Surveying & Design, Inc. came into existence. But through the years, our vision has been the same, to provide the most accurate surveying and civil site design services while always paying attention to accuracy and project costs.
Our many years of experience and the long relationships we have built with the various municipal engineering review departments allows for a prompt, quick turnaround process for civil site plan approval, as well as survey plat approval for recording.Our expertise in land surveying and civil site design allows us to give recommendations to prospective clients during the initial contact so as to give a true job description of what is to be expected.

This 419 acre tract was surveyed and designed to accomodate an 18 hole golf course and 313 residential lots.
Surveying services included boundary surveys, aerial topographic surveys, and construction staking for site construction.
Design drawings included lot layout, grading and eronsion control plans, sanitary sewer and storm sewer plan and profiles, and water supply design.
This was an 66 unit suburban condominium project located on 14.7 acres.
